Kris is a graduate of the Cortiva Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown, MA. As a practical and solution-based therapist, her treatment approach is interactive and goal-oriented. She uses a combination of Swedish, Deep tissue, Warm stone, and Trigger Point therapy to assist you in achieving your goals.
Kris holds a B.A. in biology from Franklin Pierce University and received specialized training as a Pancha Karma therapist from the well-known Kripalu Yoga Centre in Lenox, MA. In November 2009, she furthered her advanced study in Haryana, India at the Jiva International Vedic Academy.
She's been a massage therapist for the 2009 PanMass Challenge, the 2007 Dana Farber Cancer Institute's Boston Marathon Team, and a Teaching Assistant at Cortiva. When she's not seeing clients in her Somerville practice, she provides lectures and workshops on injury prevention and wellness. Her popular course on repetitive strain injuries, "Ouch! That Hurts!" has been taught at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Her previous professional experience in orthopedic medicine, along with her study of yoga and world travel, equip her to provide individualized, dynamic, and culturally sensitive treatment plans for those who desire a more balanced and healthy life. By integrating her training in Western ideologies with Eastern philosophies, she offers a balanced approach to her clients - delivered with the highest standards of excellence in the profession.
Kris generally is available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and alternate Sundays.
